Being New Here

Being the new kid in town is always tough but I feel like my kids have had a particularly rough time with it for some reason. Shelly has always had trouble making good girlfriends and Mark is 13 and he’s pretty short for his age so he’s had a hard time adjusting, too. I love it down here in Texas because my family’s here and my husband’s new job is wonderful but none of it means much if the kids aren’t happy, you know? I went to the school to talk to their teacher and she and I actually hit it off and have become really great friends which puts my mind at ease. Catherine and I try to catch up by phone all the time and go to lunch every other Thursday and she’s been really helpful with stuff like ShopElectricityRatesTexas.Com for electricity and getting us into the best pediatricians. The kids will get used to it eventually I’m sure but for now I hope they can make it through the summer unscathed.
